Tyler:- Jacob? I didn’t see you at the party.

Jacob:- yeah. I couldn’t go yesterday.

Tyler:- Why? Were you sick or something?

Jacob:- No. Actually, I didn’t want to go.

Tyler:- But it was your best friend’s birthday.

Jacob:- I know. I just didn’t feel like going.

Tyler:- You can tell me about that.

Jacob:- The thing is that I broke up with my girlfriend.

Tyler:- Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.

Jacob:- That’s okay. I was very depressed.

Tyler:- I can imagine. But why did you break up?

Jacob:- Because we didn’t see each other much.

Tyler:- You told me you got a new job. Is that why?

Jacob:- Yeah. I had to work all day and didn’t have much time.

Tyler:- Maybe she could understand better.

Jacob:- I talked to her, but nothing good happened.

Tyler:- What did she tell you?

Jacob:- She told me she needed more time together.

Tyler:- Didn’t you meet on the weekends?

Jacob:- No. I had to work on weekends too.

Tyler:- Wow. Why did you work so hard?

Jacob:- You know. I want to save some money to travel.

Tyler:- I see. So, what are you gonna do now?

Jacob:- I miss her so much, so I decided to quit my job.

Tyler:- Are you sure about that?

Jacob:- Yes. I mean, I can get a better job.

Tyler:- For sure. You studied two careers.

Jacob:- That’s the thing.

Tyler:- What do you mean?

Jacob:- Some companies told me I’m overrated.

Tyler:- Wow. I can’t believe that.

Jacob:- I know! So I already started looking for a new job.

Tyler:- Did you apply to any specific company?

Jacob:- Not precisely. I’m looking for the best option.

Tyler:- Didn’t you study French and Chinese?

Jacob:- I did. I studied languages for five years.

Tyler:- Great! I know a company that is hiring.

Jacob:- People who speak many languages?

Tyler:- Yes. Especially Chinese.

Jacob:- How did you get that information?

Tyler:- My father worked for this company five years ago.

Jacob:- Fantastic! How was it, then?

Tyler:- He told me he had a good boss.

Jacob:- What about his coworkers?

Tyler:- Everyone there was very professional.

Jacob:- That’s what I like. What did he do there?

Tyler:- He was in charge of important documents.

Jacob:- Nice. So, he was like the manager.

Tyler:- In fact, he was the general manager I think.

Jacob:- Wow! Where did he study?

Tyler:- He studied at Harvard University.

Jacob:- That’s amazing.

Tyler:- Yeah, but it was many years ago.

Jacob:- I suppose so. And how did he get that job?

Tyler:- His teacher recommended him.

Jacob:- That’s great. What was the teacher’s name?

Tyler:- I don’t remember. Why do you ask?

Jacob:- Because I took a summer course at Harvard.

Tyler:- Really? When was that?

Jacob:- It was the last year. I had to travel to the USA for that.

Tyler:- Oh, now I see why you weren’t here last year.

Jacob:- Yes. I lived there for six months.

Tyler:- How was that experience?

Jacob:- Awesome! I mean, it was the first time I traveled abroad.

Tyler:- Could you visit many places?

Jacob:- Sure. I could meet new people too.

Tyler:- I know you are very sociable.

Jacob:- Yeah. I met a manager from New York.

Tyler:- Interesting. How did you meet him?

Jacob:- We went to Harvard together.

Tyler:- Did he recommend you for your current job position?

Jacob:- He did. That’s why I could get that job.

Tyler:- Did they pay you very well?

Jacob:- Well! I made a good amount in just two months.

Tyler:- Maybe you should stay a little more then.

Jacob:- No, I’m really tired. I need to take some vacations.

Tyler:- Did you talk to the Japanese manager?

Jacob:- Not yet, but I’m planning to do it today.

Tyler:- Then who did you talk with to quit?

Jacob:- I had to talk to my direct boss.

Tyler:- I see. And you already call your girlfriend?

Jacob:- No, I don’t feel like calling her now.

Tyler:- Don’t wait too much for this to happen.

Jacob:- I know. I will talk to her tomorrow.

Tyler:- Good. I hope you can solve your problems.

Jacob:- Mee too. Did you see her at the party?

Tyler:- Yeah. She was there.

Jacob:- So, how was she? I mean, did she look ok?

Tyler:- I didn’t pay much attention, but she looked well.

Jacob:- Maybe she didn’t miss me as I did.

Tyler:- I think she did. She loved you so much.

Jacob:- I hope so. What time did she leave the party?

Tyler:- At about midnight I believe.

Jacob:- Did she leave alone?

Tyler:- I think her father picked her up.

Jacob:- That’s good to know. I was worried.

Tyler:- Did you talk to your best friend?

Jacob:- To Patrick? Not yet. Why?

Tyler:- I mean, you need to apologize to him.

Jacob:- I told him I was not feeling good, but that’s it.

Tyler:- Well, maybe you could tell him the truth.

Jacob:- I just didn’t want to ruin his party.

Tyler:- You are a good friend.

Jacob:- Thank you. Anyway, I have to go now.

Tyler:- Sure Have a good day and see you later.

Jacob:- Take care and thanks for listening.
